Caprese salad sliders, a fresh and light snack for those not into heavy tailgate dishes
Ingredients
- 15 Hawaiian slider rolls
- 16oz Mozzarella cheese
- 4-5 tomatoes, sliced into 15 slices
- 15-20 basil leaves
- 1/4 cup pesto
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 2tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2tsp poppy seeds
- 1/4tsp salt
- 1/4tsp ground black pepper
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350
- Spray large baking sheet with nonstick spray
- Place bottom halves of rolls into dish
- Add pesto and spread onto rolls
- Add slice of mozzarella cheese on each roll, then add a slice of tomato and basil leaves
- Place tops of roll onto sandwich
- Combine melted butter, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper and poppy seeds
- Whisk until well combined
- Drizzle this mix over top of sandwiches
- Cover baking dish with foil and place into oven
- Cook for 10 minutes, remove foil then cook for another 3-5 minutes or until golden brown and melty cheese
