A simple recipe that is easy to make for large amounts of people, making it perfect for your next tailgate! A tasty and spicy sandwich, or make it low-carb and opt for no bread.
Ingredients
- 1 White onion thinly sliced
- 2 1/2lbs Boneless skinless chicken breast
- 2tsp Italian seasoning
- 1tsp Garlic pepper
- 16oz Jar pepper rings, drained
- 16oz Roasted bell pepper strips
- 1 Cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup Mild pepper brine
- 8 Hoagie rolls
- 8 Slices provolone cheese
Directions
- Place onions over bottom of slow cooker and place chicken on top of onions
- Sprinkle Italian seasoning and garlic pepper
- Spread drained pepper rings and pepper strips over chicken
- Pour chicken broth and 1/4 cup of brine from pepper rings around chicken
- Place cover on crock pot and cook on low for 7 hours or high for 5 hours
- Cook until chicken is tender and shreddable
- Move cooked chicken to cutting board and shred
- Place back into slow cooker and stir into cooking liquid
- Combine with peppers and onions
- Spread mix onto hoagie rolls and top with cheese
- Place under broiler until cheese melts
