A Latin twist on a grilled ham and cheese sandwich. This delicious sandwich is grilled and made with ham, pork, Swiss cheese, pickles, mustard and Cuban bread.

Ingredients

  • 2tbsp yellow mustard
  • 2tbsp mayo
  • 1 loaf ciabatta or Cuban bread
  • 8oz thinly sliced cooked ham
  • 4oz thinly sliced roast pork
  • 4oz thinly sliced salami
  • 10 Sandwich pickles
  • 6oz sliced Swiss cheese

Directions

  1. For Day Before: combine mustard and mayo
  2. Spread cut sides of bread with mustard mix and layer bottom of bread with ham, pork and salami
  3. Place pickles on top of meat and add cheese
  4. Add back top of bread and press down firmly
  5. Coat foil with cooking spray and tightly wrap sandwich in foil
  6. Wrap in second sheet of foil and place on baking sheet
  7. Find something heavy and place on top of sandwiches to press ingredients firmly together and chill overnight

Day of Tailgate

  1. Prepare grill
  2. Place sandwiches wrapped in foil on grill directly over medium coals for 30 minutes
  3. Place sandwiches wrapped in foil on grill directly over medium coals for 30 minutes
  4. Cut sandwich into 8 portions
