A football shaped bread vessel to hold delicious queso for chip dipping?  This easy recipe will work wonders on your Tailgate crowd!


  • 2 cans refrigerated pizza dough
  • 8 oz lager beer
  • 1 package (8oz) cream cheese
  • 12 oz shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 thinly sliced scallions
  • Tortilla chips, pretzels, crackers, bread, etc


  1. Preheat oven to 425 and line baking sheet with parchment paper
  2. Roll on dough can out in center of baking sheet and roll second on cutting board, cutting it lengthwise into 3 strips
  3. Roll the two strips into long cylinders lengthwise
  4. Lay the cylinders on dough in center of baking sheet
  5. Arrange the cylinders on outline of football, pinching the ends together
  6. Wrap bottom layer around 2 cylinders to forms football shape
  7. Cut remaining dough into 3 long lengthwise pieces
  8. Lay smaller pieces perpendicular to long pieces to look like laces
  9. Bake in oven for about 15 minutes
  10. Simmer beer in medium saucepan over medium heat on your grill to start queso preparations
  11. Add cream cheese and cheddar cheese and whisk until melted
  12. Add the scallions and stir
  13. Pour the queso into breadbowl and serve!
