You won’t find a lot in the way of traditional tailgating at an Akron RubberDucks game, but that doesn’t mean you won’t have a good time pregaming at the bars and restaurants near Canal Park. Canal Park is located in downtown Akron, and as a result, you’ll find a lot of great bars and restaurants nearby. Two of the most popular places to stop by before the game are Bricco and Barley House so take advantage of the ballpark’s location and enjoy one of these two establishments or another downtown Akron bar or restaurant before the game.
Additionally, arrive at the park early and take advantage of the Diamond Boardwalk. The Diamond Boardwalk gives you access to the canal behind the ballpark and is a must-see for anyone taking in a RubberDucks game. Just make sure to get back to the ballpark before the game as the gate to the boardwalk closes before the game starts.
Finally, if you’re attending a weekend game, then you’ll be in luck as there is a ton of free parking available in downtown Akron. All the City of Akron parking lots are free Friday after 6:00 pm and all day on Saturdays and Sundays making a weekend game the perfect time to see the Rubberducks play at Canal Park.

Free Weekend ParkingOne of the great things about attending a weekend game is that you can park in the City of Akron parking lots for free. The one downside is that no tailgating is allowed in these lots. If you want to park for free and grab a bite to eat at a nearby restaurant, then the City of Akron lots are an excellent parking option.
Barley House, Bricco, and other nearby RestaurantsIf you like hitting the bar or eating a restaurant before the game, then you’re in the right place. Some of Akron’s best pre-game spots are only a few blocks away, so take advantage of all the nearby bars and restaurants when taking in a RubberDucks game.
