History

The Altoona Curve play their home games at Peoples Natural Gas Field in Altoona, Pennsylvania. The 7,210-seat ballpark opened in 1999 and cost $20 million to build. The stadium is 325 ft to left field, 405 ft to center field, and 325 ft to right field.

Before the start of the 2003 season, Peoples Natural Gas Field’s capacity was expanded from 6,176 to 7,210 when the left-field reserved bleachers, third-base picnic pavilion, and left-field party deck were added to the park.

Peoples Natural Gas Field hosted its first game on April 15, 1999, when the Altoona Curve defeated the Bowie Baysox 6-1. A few years later the ballpark set its regular season attendance record when 9,255 came out to watch the Curve take on the Harrisburg Senators. Most recently, the Peoples Natural Gas Field was the site of the 2006 Eastern League All-Star Game.
