1. Skyliner Roller Coaster

One of the defining features of PNG Field is the roller coaster in right field. The Skyliner is part of Lakemont Park, and at night when it’s lit up it provides a fun backdrop to the game.

2. Road to the Show Board

Check out the “Road to the Show Board” to see all the former Curve players who have made their way to the major leagues. The board is a fun thing to check out especially if you’re a fan of the Curve’s parent club the Pittsburgh Pirates.

3. Kids Play Areas

The Altoona Curve offer not one, but two kids play areas. The Begin With Us Toddler Area is located on the upper concourse behind home plate and is the perfect place to take young kids, while the older kids will love the Kids’ Fun Zone down the right-field line. No matter how old your kids are, they’ll enjoy the kids play areas at PNG Field.

4. Opening Day Banners

Around PNG Field are banners honoring all of the Curve’s opening day rosters. Take a walk around the concourse to check them all out before the game.

5. Lakemont Park

Not too many ballparks are located next to an amusement park, so take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy Lakemont Park before the game. Lakemont Park isn’t a huge amusement park making it easy to explore all the park has to offer in a few hours before the game.

6. Mascots

The Altoona Curve have five mascots including Steamer, Al Tuna, Diesel Dog, Tenacious, and Loco. The Curve’s newest mascot Loco was introduced in 2015 and is already making quite the name for himself. Keep an eye out for all of the Curve’s mascots during your visit to PNG Field.

7. Team Shop

If you’re looking for some Curve gear, then stop by the team shop. The team shop offers a wide selection of merchandise including caps, jerseys, pennants, and much more.

8. Route 22 Rivalry

You won’t want to miss it when the Curve square off with nearby divisional rivals the Harrisburg Senators. The games between these two always have importance in the standings as well as bragging rights on the line making each matchup between these two Keystone State rivals a must-see.

9. Kids Run the Bases

Take part in the Kids Run the Bases after every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday game. Kids 14 and under are invited to run the bases after the game just like their favorite players making it a fun event for young fans.

10. Main Entrance

The main entrance to Peoples Natural Gas Field is designed to look like an old-fashioned roundhouse and features pictures of current Curve players making it a must-see. When attending a Curve game, make sure to go in through the main entrance to get the full gameday experience.
