Whether you’re attending February practices or a Diamondbacks spring training game, you’ll have a great time at Salt River Fields. February practices are the perfect time to get up close to your favorite players, and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to do so thanks to practices beginning at around 9:00 in the morning. Additionally, those of you who are huge baseball fans won’t want to miss the chance to catch some of the Colorado Rockies practices, which take place on the other side of the complex.

If you’re attending a D-Backs spring training game, you’ll want to arrive early as the gates open an hour and 40 minutes before first pitch. Each of the four entry gates is unique with the home plate gate plaza featuring a water feature. You also won’t want to miss checking out the lake at the facility, which is home to a variety of freshwater fish. Kids especially will love stopping by the lake before entering the park.

The one downside to the pregame festivities surrounding a D-Backs spring training game is the fact tailgating isn’t allowed on the premises. However, Salt River Fields is on the outskirts of Scottsdale meaning you’ll find plenty of places nearby to grab a bite to eat or something to drink before or after the game.

Get to the practices or game early to make the most out of your visit to Salt River Fields.

Diamondbacks Practices

If you want to check out the D-Backs practices before the games start, then arrive at the practice diamonds on the “Desert” side of the complex at about 9:00 am. You’ll also be able to catch the Rockies practicing as well making for a great experience for any NL West fan.
