Rivalries & Top Games to Attend

Iron Bowl of Basketball

Rival Team: Alabama Crimson Tide

Football may overshadow basketball at these two SEC schools, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have an intense rivalry on the hardwood. No matter what the sport, Auburn and Alabama have a strong hatred towards one another and you’ll be in for quite the treat when these two get together. It’s an even better matchup when Auburn wins the Iron Bowl since Alabama’s president presents the Foy-ODK Sportsmanship Award at the game making it a must see for any college sports fan.

Fight Songs

  1. Alma Mater

On the rolling plains of Dixie
    ‘Neath the sun-kissed sky,
    Proudly stands our Alma Mater,
    Banners high.

To thy name we’ll sing the praise,
From hearts that love so true,
And pledge to thee our loyalty
    The ages through.

We hail thee, Auburn, and we vow
To work for thy just fame,
And hold in memory as we do now
    Thy cherished name.

    Hear the student voices swelling,
    Echoes strong and clear,
    Adding laurels to thy fame
    Enshrined so dear.

From the hollowed walls we’ll part
    And bid thee sad adieu;
Thy sacred trust we’ll bear with us
    The ages through.

We hail thee, Auburn, and we vow
To work for thy just fame,
And hold in memory as we do now
    Thy cherished name.

  2. War Eagle (Fight Song)

War Eagle, fly down the field,
Ever to conquer, never to yield.
    War Eagle, fearless and true.
Fight on you orange and blue.
    Go! Go! Go!
On to vict’ry, strike up the band.
Give ’em hell, give ’em hell,
    Stand up and yell, hey!
    War Eagle, win for Auburn,
    Power of Dixieland!

Where oh where can he be?
Low or highbrow, they all cry now
‘Please play that Tiger Rag for me’
