The Ravens’ rivalry with the Steelers is a relatively new one; however, that doesn’t stop it from being one of the fiercest in the NFL. The rivalry between these two teams dates back to 1996 when the Cleveland Browns moved to Baltimore to fill the vacancy left by the Colts when they moved to Indianapolis. These two foes have squared off against each other in many big games as they’ve met in the playoffs four times over the last fourteen seasons. The Steelers lead the all-time series 24-18 and hold a 3-1 lead in the postseason, but the Ravens have won many important battles between these two over the years.
The rivalry between these two teams is more of a sentimental one than a competitive one due to the fact the Colts bolted from Baltimore in the middle of the night on March 29, 1984. Ever since then there has been bad blood between Baltimore football fans and the Colts, so don’t miss it when the Colts come to town.
Browns fans have lots of animosity toward the Ravens franchise due to the original Cleveland Browns controversial relocation to Baltimore in 1996. At the start of the 1996 NFL season, the Browns owner Art Modell decided to move the team from their long-time home in Baltimore, Maryland. This move tore the hearts out of many diehard Browns fans leaving a bad taste in the city’s mouth. To this day Browns fans still hold a grudge against the Ravens organization. When attending this matchup, you’ll see plenty of tee shirts reading “Muck Fodell” referring to the hatred for previous Browns owner Art Modell.

Fight Songs
Baltimore Ravens Fight Song
Baltimore Ravens Lets go
And put that ball across the line
So fly on with talons spread wide
Go in and strike with Ravens pride
FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT
Ravens dark wings take to flight
Dive in and show them your might
For Baltimore and Maryland
You will fly on to victory
The White Stripes
The White Stripes song is used to pump up the crowd and team on gameday.
I’m gonna fight ’em off
A seven nation army couldn’t hold me back
They’re gonna rip it off
Taking their time right behind my back
And I’m talkin’ to myself at night
Because I can’t forget
Back and forth through my mind
Behind a cigarette
And the message comin’ from my eyes says, “Leave it alone.”
Don’t wanna hear about it
Every single one’s got a story to tell
Everyone knows about it
From the Queen of England to the hounds of hell
And if I catch it comin’ back my way
I’m gonna serve it to you
And that ain’t what you want to hear
But that’s what I’ll do
And the feeling coming from my bones says, “Find a home.”
I’m going to Wichita
Far from this opera for evermore
I’m gonna work the straw
Make the sweat drip out of every pore
And I’m bleeding, and I’m bleeding, and I’m bleeding
Right before the lord
All the words are gonna bleed from me
And I will think no more
And the stains comin’ from my blood tell me, “Go back home.”
