In Game
Boise State is home to one of the best atmospheres in college football, and when it comes to college basketball, the Broncos are no slouches either. While things may not be quite as lively at Broncos basketball games, due to the basketball program not having the same level of success, you’ll still have an excellent time attending a Broncos basketball game.
There is lots of pageantry on display at Broncos games, and the people of Boise come out in large numbers to support their pride and joy on the basketball court. A Boise State game has everything you would expect from a college hoops game including a raucous student section, a bombastic pep band, and an active spirit squad. The students and band create a fun atmosphere and the routines by the spirit squads, including Buster Broncos, are entertaining for fans of all ages.
You’ll also find plenty of places to grab something to eat or drink in Boise as well. There may not be any tailgating going on for basketball games, but local favorites like Suds and The Ram offer plenty of places to grab a drink and hang out with friends.
A Boise State basketball game is a great way to spend time in Boise and is home tons of pageantry and tradition, so don’t hesitate to get tickets to a Broncos game.
Things to check out
Banners
Hanging above the court are banners celebrating the program’s history. The banners honor all of the Broncos conference championships and NCAA Tournament appearances, so take them in when attending a Boise State game.
Buster Bronco
Buster Bronco has been the Boise State Broncos mascot since 1932 and is one of the best mascots in college sports. He was ranked #3 in Sports Illustrated’s 2007 mascot power rankings and was a nominee for the Capital One Mascot of the Year in 2008-2009. Buster Bronco really revs up the crowd with his antics, so be sure to look for him when attending a Boise State game.
The Corral
The Corral is the name of the rowdy student section at Boise State games. Boise State students are known as some of the loudest and most dedicated when it comes to college football, and it’s no different during hoops season. The Corral helps provide a lively atmosphere inside ExtraMile Arena, so enjoy the noise and atmosphere they create at a Broncos basketball game.
BSU Band
Like The Corral, the BSU Band also plays a significant role in the incredible atmosphere found at a Boise State basketball game. The band keeps the tempo high throughout the game and does an excellent job of giving cues to the student section.
Cheer and Dance Teams
The cheer and dance teams at Boise State do a great job of helping create a collegiate feel at Broncos basketball games. Both groups put on fantastic routines, so don’t miss them during your trip to Boise.
