History

The 2,800-seat Paul Bailey Pizzitola Sports Center or the Pitz as Brown fans call it, in Providence, Rhode Island is the home of the Brown men’s basketball team. The venue opened in 1987 to replace Marvel Gymnasium and cost $7.6 million to build.

The arena was designed by the Eggers Group and features five squash court, a practice space for wrestling and gymnastics, and four tennis courts.

In addition to being the home of the Brown men’s basketball team, the Pizzitola Sports Center also houses the university’s women’s basketball, volleyball, wrestling, gymnastics, and squash teams.
