Rivalries & Top Games to Attend

Blackhawks vs Red Wings

Rival Team: Detroit Red Wings

The Blackhawks and Red Wings may no longer play in the same division or even the same conference, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a can’t miss game when Detroit comes to town. The two teams have been competing on the ice since 1926, and at one point the two teams even shared the same owner. They’ve have met in the Stanley Cup Playoffs 15 times with the Hawks winning the most recent matchup four games to three after overcoming a three games to one deficit. You can still hear “Detroit Sucks” throughout the United Center on game days, so don’t miss your chance to see the Hawks take on the Wings.

Blackhawks vs Blues

Rival Team: St. Louis Blues

The Blackhawks and Blues have been in the same division since 1970, which has led to the development of an intense rivalry. The rivalry has seen more penalty minutes and fights than any other NHL rivalry and is now considered the top divisional rivalry for both teams due to Detroit's move to the Eastern Conference. If you want to experience a tense atmosphere at the United Center, then there are few better games to attend then one against the Blues.

Blackhawks vs Wild

Rival Team: Minnesota Wild

The Blackhawks and North Stars had a fierce rivalry during both teams time in the Norris Division and now that Chicago and Minnesota once again share a division the hate has been rekindled. The fact the two teams met in the playoffs three straight years from 2013 to 2015 has also played a significant role in turning the Blackhawks-Wild rivalry into one of the best in the Central Division.
