The CU Events Center is home to an underrated basketball game day experience that any big-time college basketball fan would enjoy. Colorado may not be home to one of the prestigious programs in the country, but you’ll still find incredible fan support and an electric atmosphere here at the CU Events Center.

The student section, band, and spirit squads at Colorado all come together to create an intense and fun in-game atmosphere. The student section, known as the C-Unit, come to every game ready to cheer on their team and do an excellent job of creating an electric atmosphere inside the CU Events Center. The UC Pep Band are also a big part of the atmosphere as well and play lots of fan favorites and contemporary favorites throughout the game.

The CU Events Center is also home to lots of Buffaloes memorabilia. The concourse is filled with different exhibits dedicated to the best athletes, teams, and coaches in CU history. You can even stop by the Colorado Buffaloes Athletic Hall of Fame and see plaques honoring all of Colorado’s best student athletes from the past.

One thing that sets a Buffaloes game at the CU Events Center apart from other venues is the beer garden and pre-game club room. Most college basketball arenas don’t serve alcohol, but that’s not the case here in Boulder as there are several places to grab a drink during the game.

If you’re looking to grab a drink or something to eat after the game, then you’ll find plenty of options around Boulder. Boulder is as good of a college town as you’ll find anywhere and there are lots of restaurants and bars near the CU Events Center.

Beer Garden and Pre-Game Club Room

Those of you looking to grab a drink at a Colorado Buffaloes basketball game will be in luck as there is a beer garden located on the east and west sides. The Pre-Game Club Room is also an excellent place to grab a drink, so if you don’t have a chance to hit the bars before the game don’t worry as there is plenty to drink inside the CU Events Center.

Souvenir Shop

If you want to pick up a souvenir from your trip then there is no better place to do so than the Souvenir Shop inside the CU Events Center. Here you’ll find all kinds of Buffaloes gear including t-shirts, hats, and even mini basketballs.

UC Pep Band

The Golden Buffalo Marching Band, is a big part of a CU football game, and the UC Pep Band is no different when it comes to basketball games. The UC Pep Band creates an excellent atmosphere and goes a long way in making a Colorado basketball game a special experience.

Chip

Since Colorado’s famous mascot Ralphie can’t make an appearance at basketball games, you’ll instead be entertained by the Chip the school’s costumed buffalo mascot. While he’s no Ralphie, Chip puts on an incredible show at Buffaloes basketball games and has received many accolades over the years, being named to the 2003 Capital One All-America Mascot Team and winning the 2009 and 2010 UCA Mascot National Championships. Look out for Chip and enjoy his antics when attending a CU basketball game.

C-Unit

The Buffaloes student section was started in 2004 and has quickly made quite a name for themselves. The students give the Buffaloes a ton of support with their chants and cheers and also travel well when the team hits the road. If you thought the C-Unit was loud when they visited your team’s arena, just wait until you see them at home.
