If the action inside the Convocation Center isn’t enough for you, you’ll also find there is a lot of fun to be had in the nearby neighborhood known as Depot Town. Depot Town is home to some of the best bars and restaurants Ypsilanti has to offer including Sidetrack Bar & Grill and Aubree’s Pizzeria & Tavern. The beer flows freely, and there are plenty of options on tap, so come ready to party when visiting Ypsilanti.

Swoop the bald eagle can be seen at every Eastern Michigan home basketball game. The mascot entertains the crowd on the sideline during the game by performing all sorts of antics, so keep your eyes peeled for this crazy bird during the game.

The cheerleaders at EMU do their best to rile up the crowd during the game. The squad performs a variety of great routines, although everyone’s favorite event involving the cheerleaders is the t-shirt toss so get loud for your chance to win a free shirt.

The EMU student section provides the majority of the atmosphere at an Eagles game and is a can’t miss aspect of visiting the Convocation Center. If you want to sit among the loudest and wildest fans at an EMU game, then make sure to get tickets in the student section.
