1. Michigan MAC Trophy

The Michigan MAC Trophy is awarded to the winner of the three-way rivalry between Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan, and Western Michigan. The Michigan Sports Hall of Fame created the trophy in 2005, and it gives extra bragging rights to whoever wins the season series between these three in-state rivals. There is no better time to attend an Eagles basketball game then when either Central or Western Michigan come to town.

2. Basketball Band

The Pride of the Peninsula is the name bestowed upon the EMU band, which makes their presence known on game day. Their excellent performances throughout the game energize the crowd and entertain the fans of all ages, so keep your eyes and ears out for them throughout the game.

3. Swoop

Swoop the bald eagle can be seen at every Eastern Michigan home basketball game. The mascot entertains the crowd on the sideline during the game by performing all sorts of antics, so keep your eyes peeled for this crazy bird during the game.

4. Banners

Hanging above the court are banners honoring the Eagles greatest players as well as their postseason appearances. The banners honor Eagles legends such as George Gervin and Earl Boykins, so make sure to check them out during your trip to Ypsilanti.

5. Cheerleaders

The cheerleaders at EMU do their best to rile up the crowd during the game. The squad performs a variety of great routines, although everyone’s favorite event involving the cheerleaders is the t-shirt toss so get loud for your chance to win a free shirt.

6. Student Section

The EMU student section provides the majority of the atmosphere at an Eagles game and is a can’t miss aspect of visiting the Convocation Center. If you want to sit among the loudest and wildest fans at an EMU game, then make sure to get tickets in the student section.

7. Kid's Area

Equipped with a bounce house, the kid’s area offers the perfect place to take the little ones when they get restless during the game. Those of you bringing kids to the game will want to stop by the kid’s area before tipoff, so you don’t miss any of the action.
