Gateway Motorsports Park is a 1.25-mile oval racetrack located just outside St. Louis, Missouri in Madison, Illinois. The track opened in 1970, and it holds a capacity of 78,000.
Gateway Motorsports Park opened as a drag racing facility, but since then has undergone several renovations. A road course was added to the facility in 1985, and more recently, a new oval speedway was built in 1996.
The first major event hosted at the speedway was a CART Series race on May 24, 1997. Since then the Gateway Motorsports Park has hosted a variety of racing events including NASCAR Nationwide Series and Camping World Truck Series races. The facility also hosts an annual NHRA event on the drag strip.
