Rivalries & Top Games to Attend

Raiders vs Chiefs

Rival Team: Kansas City Chiefs

The Raiders and Chiefs have a bitter rivalry that dates back to the early days of the AFL when they were two of the best teams in the league. The rivalry has remained strong since then as both teams have been in the same division since 1960. The Chiefs lead the all-time series 58-52-2 having won three of the last four. The Chiefs also hold a 2-1 lead in the all-time playoff series. If you’re looking to attend one of the most intense games of the year, make sure to get tickets to the Raiders-Chiefs game at the Stadium.

Raiders vs Broncos

Rival Team: San Francisco 49ers

The Raiders-Broncos rivalry also dates back to the 1960 and the founding of the AFL. The Raiders hold the all-time series lead 60-49-2. However, the playoff series is tied at one game apiece. In recent years the Broncos have gotten the better of the Raiders on most occasions as they have won the last 7 and 14 of the last 20.

Raiders vs Chargers

Rival Team: San Diego Chargers

The Raiders-Chargers rivalry stems not only from the fact that these two rivals have played in the same division for their entire existence, but also from the proximity of the two teams and fanbases. The rivalry between the fans is particularly strong since there are a lot of Raiders fans in Southern California due to the Raiders’ brief stint playing in Los Angeles from 1982 to 1994.

Raiders vs 49ers

Rival Team: San Francisco 49ers

Often referred to as the “Battle of the Bay” this rivalry is based on the two franchises geographic location. The two teams’ stadiums are located just a mere 12 miles from each other. Which leads to mixed loyalties throughout the whole bay area. While these two teams don’t play very often you better believe that his rivalry is stronger than most.

Raiders Tailgate Guide

  2. Raider Nation

Another song dedicated to the Oakland Raider, but this time by Ice Cube. At the beginning of the song, one would hear the Autumn Wind poem before the actual rap. Songs like this do an excellent job of showing the pride Raiders fans have in their team.

The Autumn wind is a pirate
blustering in from sea with a
rollicking song he sweeps along swaggering boisterously

The autumn wind is a raider, Pillaging just for fun
He’ll knock you ’round and upside down
And laugh when he’s conquered and won. (laugh)

Raider Nation Les Go Les Go
Raider Nation Les Go Les Go
Raider Nation, Are u ready for some football?
U aint ready for the football!

U aint ready for them Oakland Raiders, Its the invasion of them Oakland Raiders

Are u ready for this football, u aint ready for this football. (ahhh)

Here we come baby, just win baby
Feel the storm of the cold autumn wind baby
Its the Oakland Raiders get cha mouthpiece
U in tha black hole with tha black beast
This ain’t black gold, This is black silver
    Commit-Ment to excellence We deliver
    And we’ll play past regulation
Its the invasion of the raider nation

Raider Nation Les Go Les Go
Raider Nation Les Go Les Go
Raider Nation, Are u ready for some football?
U aint ready for the football!

U aint ready for them Oakland Raiders, Its the invasion of them Oakland Raiders

Are u ready for this football, u aint ready for this football. (ahhh)

  3. Oaktown

This is a song you’ll hear being blasted by Raiders faithful every game day of the Raiders.

  4. The Autumn Wind

This is not really a song, but a poem. This poem was written by Steve Sabol and attempts to paint a picture of the atmosphere of autumn weather in relation to football season. The poem is considered as the unofficial team anthem of the Raiders and can be heard at every Raiders game.

The Autumn wind is a pirate
    Blustering in from sea
With a rollicking song he sweeps along
    Swaggering boisterously.
    His face is weather-beaten
    He wears a hooded sash
With a silver hat about his head
    And a bristling black mustache
He growls as he storms the country
    A villain big and bold
And the trees all shake and quiver and quake
As he robs them of their gold.
The Autumn wind is a Raider
    Pillaging just for fun
He’ll knock you ’round and upside down
And laugh when he’s conquered and won.
