The Chargers-Raiders rivalry stems not only from the fact that these two rivals have played in the same division for their entire existence, but also from the proximity of the two teams and fanbases. The rivalry between the fans is particularly strong since there are a lot of Raiders fans in Southern California due to the Raiders’ brief stint playing in Los Angeles from 1982 to 1994. The Raiders hold the all-time series lead 59-50-2, but the Chargers have won the last three and 19 of the last 25.
Similar to all the rivalries in the AFC West the Broncos-Chargers rivalry began in 1960 with the creation of the AFL. The two teams have played in the same division ever since and have developed a strong rivalry as a result. The Broncos own the lead in the all-time series 61-49-1 and have won the only playoff meeting between these two rivals when the beat the Chargers 24-17 in the 2014 NFL playoffs.
The Chiefs and Chargers have been going at it since the Chiefs were the Dallas Texans and the Chargers played in Los Angeles. Since then a strong rivalry has formed as the two teams have met 110 times, with the Chargers holding a slim 55-54-1 edge over the Chiefs making this one of the most tightly contested rivalries in NFL history.
