Maryland vs Duke

Rival Team: Duke Blue Devils

Maryland and Duke was one of the fiercest rivalries in the country when Maryland was in the ACC. The two teams had several hard fought battles over the years including an 87-72 Terps win against #1 Duke in 2003. While the two won’t play regularly anymore, there is still a good chance to see them square off in the Big Ten-ACC Challenge, so be on alert for when these two teams meet next as you wouldn’t want to miss it.

Maryland Terrapins Stadium Guide

In Game

Maryland’s move to the Big Ten in 2014 has given Big Ten fans a new road trip destination that is well worth exploring. Terps fans are among the most diehard in all of college basketball, which can be seen by the intense rivalry they developed with former ACC rivals Duke over the years. The Maryland student section would go toe to toe with the Cameron Crazies every year when it came to outdoing each other, so you’ll be in for a treat when attending a Maryland basketball game.

In addition to the lively atmosphere created by the Maryland student section and Terrapins fans, you’ll be able to enjoy the rich tapestry of Maryland basketball that is on display at the Xfinity Center. From the moment you step in the door, you’ll see tributes to past Maryland players and coaches. The Maryland Athletics Hall of Fame and History Center is located right in the lobby and home to the team’s 2002 national championship trophy, so make sure to check it out. There is also parts of the court from the Terps’ previous home Cole Field House lining the walls, and when you reach your seat, you’ll see tons of banners hanging from the ceiling.

If the raucous atmosphere and the school’s dedication to showing off its history aren’t enough to make the trip enjoyable, the Xfinity Center also has top-notch concessions. The Xfinity Center features Chik-fil-A in addition to all the typical game day offerings and even sells beer.

You’ll have an excellent time attending a game at the Xfinity Center making the trip to Maryland well worth the trek.
