Rival Team: Nashville Sounds

Memphis and Nashville have a long running baseball rivalry that dates back to 1885. The current iteration of the rivalry started in 1998, and since then the Sounds hold a 9-5-5 lead in the all-time series. While the teams may have changed over the years, the passion in the rivalry has not. You’ll find there are a lot of bragging rights on the line when these two Tennessee-based PCL teams get together, so make sure to be in attendance when the Redbirds and the Sounds square off.

Atmosphere

AutoZone Park is an excellent place to take in a ballgame and is located in downtown Memphis, so you won’t struggle to find pregame entertainment. The ballpark is only a couple blocks from Beale Street and the FedExForum meaning you’ll only need to take a quick five-minute walk to find a bevy of entertainment at your disposal.

Beale Street is a must for anyone making his or her first trip to Memphis and is home to blues clubs and plenty of restaurants. Those of you who are looking to grab a bite to eat or something to drink before the game will love the fine options found on Beale Street. Barbecue fans will especially be in luck as Memphis is famous for their variation, so take some time before the game to down some delicious Memphis barbecue.

After enjoying all that Beale Street has to offer, head over to AutoZone Park and check out the main entry plaza. The plaza is home to a variety of baseball-themed sculptures and is a can’t miss part of attending a Redbirds game.

You’ll have a fantastic time exploring everything downtown Memphis and Beale Street have to offer, so arrive early and take in all the neighborhood has to offer before the game.

A Memphis Redbirds game is a fun experience no matter how big of a baseball fan you are. Diehard baseball fans will have a fantastic time watching future Cardinals stars take the field and will enjoy talking ball with the Redbirds knowledgeable fans. The most die-hard Redbirds fans know everything that is happening with the Cardinals and the Redbirds making them some of the best fans to talk to around the minor leagues.

If you’re not as into baseball and looking for more entertainment, then you’ll find it here at AutoZone Park. The Boardwalk in left field is a great place to take the kids during your visit to AutoZone Park as it’s home to a wide variety of carnival games. Kids will also love the Redbirds’ mascot Rockey as well.

Baseball fans also won’t want to miss the opportunity to take advantage of the Redbirds several weekly promotions. The promotions provide fans with the ability to enjoy cheap food and drinks as well as a variety of in-game entertainment options, so plan your trip to AutoZone Park accordingly.

Finally, AutoZone Park is home to a variety of premium seating options including the Owner’s Seats, 4-Top Table Seating, and the Redbird Club.
