Rivalries & Top Games to Attend

Citrus Series

Rival Team: Tampa Bay Rays

Citrus Series between the Marlins and Tampa Bay Rays has been going strong since 1998. While the Marlins and Rays interleague rivalry may not be as fierce as some of the other intracity and intrastate rivalries, you’ll still have a good time attending a Marlins-Rays game.

Marlins vs Braves

Rival Team: Atlanta Braves

The Braves are the closest divisional rival to the Marlins geographically, so you’ll find lots of Braves fans at LoanDepot Park when the Braves are in town.

Marlins vs Mets

Rival Team: New York Mets

Florida is home to a lot of New York transplants meaning you’ll find a mixed crowd when the Mets are in town. If you want to experience a fun atmosphere at LoanDepot Park, then get tickets when the Mets are in town.

Marlins Tailgate Guide

Atmosphere

While there is no tailgating allowed at LoanDepot Park, that doesn’t deter Miami fans from having a great pre-game atmosphere. As one of the newest stadiums in the MLB, LoanDepot Park is a vibrant and lively ballpark with many things to do and see while there. The one of a kind atmosphere found here can’t be matched anywhere else in the Majors as the stadium has more of an amusement park feel than a baseball field. Marlins fans have been through a lot  over the years, but that they don’t let that get them down as you’ll find a roaring party atmosphere surrounding the stadium on game days.

Traditions

Clevelander Bar

The Clevelander Bar, located at field level in the left field ,is more of a dance club than a bar. Equipped with DJs, dancers, stilt walkers, and even a swimming pool, this addition to LoanDepot Park has been well-received by many fans. It’s open two hours before the and stays open two hours after every home game making it a perfect pregame and postgame spot.

Marlins Stadium Guide

In Game

The Marlins pull out all the stops to put on an excellent in-game experience and the carnival-like atmosphere surrounding a Marlins game is unlike anything you’ll experience elsewhere in the Major Leagues. LoanDepot Park features lots to see including tons of artwork, a bobblehead museum, and even an aquarium.

If the stuff on display isn’t enough to keep you entertained at a Marlins game, then the in-game entertainment will. All throughout the game, you’ll be entertained by Billy the Marlin, a mascot race, and the Energy Squad. Then if none of that fancies you, the Marlins often hold firework shows and concerts after the game.

The sheer amount of entertainment at your disposal makes a trip to LoanDepot Park well worth your time, so if you’re a baseball fan visiting the Miami area make sure to stop by and take it all in.

Things to check out

Bobblehead Museum

This ever-moving glass case features bobbleheads from all across the MLB, including a Wild Thing (Ricky Vaughn from Major League) bobblehead. The museum is on the concourse directly behind home plate and is a must-see, so make sure to check it out.

Home Run Sculpture

Love it or hate it, you won’t miss the Marlins home run sculpture when attending a game at LoanDepot Park. The sculpture lights up whenever the Marlins hit a home run, so look for it when the Marlins go deep.
