Rivalries & Top Games to Attend

Jets vs Patriots

Rival Team: New England Patriots

The Jets-Patriots rivalry is one of the oldest in the AFC as the two teams have been division foes since the founding of the AFL in 1960. Over the years there have been many contentious moments between these two including the Jets signing Curtis Martin away from the Patriots, Bill Belichick resigning from the Jets a day after receiving the job to join the Patriots, and Spygate. The Patriots hold a slim 60-54-1 lead in the all-time series. However, the Jets won the last playoff meeting between these two bitter rivals 28-21 in 2011.

Jets vs Dolphins

Rival Team: Miami Dolphins

The Jets and Dolphins have been divisional rivals since 1966 when the Dolphins entered the AFL. Throughout the history of this rivalry, the Jets and Dolphins had played many great games including the Monday Night Miracle when the Jets scored 30 points in the fourth quarter to force overtime and win on a John Hall field goal. The Jets hold a 53-46-1 all-time lead, which they’ll look to extend the next time these rivals meet.

Jets vs Bills

Rival Team: Buffalo Bills

The rivalry between the Jets and Bills stems from the fact these to two teams have played in the same division since 1960 as well as the fact that the Bills represent upstate New York while the Jets are one of the two New York City teams. Things have heated up a bit recently between these two teams as this past offseason former Jets head coach Rex Ryan has taken over the Bills job. The Bills lead the all-time series 58-51. However, the Jets are right on their tails.

Jets vs Giants

Rival Team: New York Giants

The rivalry between the Giants and Jets is unique in that these two teams are the only two NFL teams to share a stadium and are also the only intracity rivals in the NFL. However, due to playing in different conferences these two teams rarely meet and have only played 12 times throughout history. As a result of the infrequency of this rivalry, the rivalry is much stronger in the stands than on the field.
