History

The Oklahoma Sooners men’s and women’s basketball teams call the 11,562 seat Lloyd Noble Center home. The arena opened in 1975 and named after Noble Corporation, founder Lloyd Noble.

The Lloyd Noble Center initially cost $6 million to build, however in 2001 it underwent a $17.1 million renovation. The renovation added a practice facility to the arena’s south side. A few years later, in 2007, a new state-of-the-art LED scoreboard was installed at center court and the sound system was upgraded.

In addition to being the home of the Sooners basketball teams, the Lloyd Noble Center has also hosted numerous concerts over the years. It even served as the site of where Amy Grant recorded two of her live albums, In Concert and In Concert Two.
