History

The USF Sun Dome in Tampa, Florida is the home of the South Florida Bulls basketball and volleyball teams. The 10,411-seat venue opened in 1980 and cost $12 million to build.

Since opening, the USF Sun Dome has been renovated several times. The facility received a new roof in 2000 when a conventional roof replaced the arena’s original inflatable roof. More recently, the USF Sun Dome underwent a $35.6 million renovation that added a new concourse level and new center court scoreboard in 2012.

Over the years, the USF Sun Dome has hosted many events. The venue has been the site of several WWE events, including Royal Rumble in 1995. The arena also has hosted several UFC events and concerts as well.
