The Bayou Classic between Grambling State and Southern is played each year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving in New Orleans. The game is one of the biggest games in the SWAC and is a must-see for any Grambling State or Southern fan. The series between these two historically black universities dates back to 1932, and the Tigers hold a 22-21 lead in the all-time series. The football game isn’t the only event at the Bayou Classic as the Battle of the Bands between Grambling’s World Famed Tiger Marching Band and Southern’s Human Jukebox is arguably the bigger draw.
