Stanford’s Maples Pavilion is the 7,392-seat home of the Cardinal men’s basketball team. The arena opened in 1969 and is named after donor Roscoe Maples.
In 2004, Maples Pavilion underwent a $30 million renovation. The renovation replaced the arena’s floor and seating and added a new center court scoreboard and concourse.
In addition to being the home of the Stanford Cardinals men’s basketball team, Maples Pavilion is also the home of the women’s basketball and volleyball teams. In 2010, the arena hosted the Dalai Lama in front of a sold out crowd.
