In Game
TCU’s Schollmaier Arena underwent an $80 million renovation before the 2015 season, which has brought new life to the arena. The arena has transformed from a ho-hum arena into a state-of-the-art facility that every college basketball fan should take in at least once. The new touches to the arena such as the Hall of Fame, Horned Frog patterned court, and new facade all go a long way in improving the experience of attending a TCU basketball game.
The Horned Frogs also have a fairly good in-game atmosphere. You won’t mistake a TCU basketball game with a Kansas basketball game, but there is plenty of pageantry on display inside Schollmaier Arena. The student section, known as the “Purple Haze,” do an admirable job of showing their support, and the TCU Spirit Squad, Super Frog, and the TCU Showgirls all bring their A game.
TCU is located right outside of Fort Worth, so you’ll have no problem finding some pre and post game entertainment. Dutch’s is a great place to grab a burger and Buffalo Bros Sports Bar has a wide variety of options if you’re looking for something else near campus. If you don’t mind driving into Fort Worth, then make sure to stop by Billy Bob’s Texas, which is the home of the “World’s Largest Honky Tonk.”
You’ll have an enjoyable time attending a basketball game thanks to the recent renovations to Schollmaier Arena.
Stop by the Jane and John Justin Hall of Fame before the game to learn all about the history TCU athletics. The Hall of Fame features exhibits dedicated to the best players and moments in all 18 of school’s varsity sports, so make sure to check it out.
Schollmaier Arena is home to an incredibly unique court. The court inside the arena features the design of a horned frog’s scales, which gives the arena an extra special look and feel.
Make sure to take a minute to enjoy the arena’s new facade that was installed in 2015. The exterior now features artwork and is a must see for anyone making their first trip to TCU.
The concession courtyard at Schollmaier Arena is a great place to grab a bite to eat during the game. The food court is home to three concession stands, chairs, and tables, and even gives you a great view of the football practice field so stop by if you get hungry.
Super Frog (Mascot)
Super Frog can be seen throughout the game and is one of the biggest symbols of school spirit at TCU. This mascot spends his time interacting with the crowd and electrifying the atmosphere of each home game. Being one of the more popular mascots in the NCAA Super Frog helps infuse team spirit on the field with his charm.
Since its inception in 1980, fans of TCU have been using the frog hand gesture in order to show their pride for the Horned Frogs. The sign is made by bending your index and middle finger at the knuckle.
Purple Haze
TCU’s Purple Haze student section do an excellent job of supporting the Horned Frogs. They may not be as well known as some of the other student sections in the conference, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t loud so enjoy their chants throughout the game.
The TCU Spirit Squad and Showgirls do an excellent job of creating a collegiate atmosphere by entertaining the crowd throughout the game. Enjoy the performances of these two spirit groups when attending a Horned Frogs game.
We’ll raise a song, both loud and long
To cheer our team to victory
For TCU, so tried and true,
We pledge eternal loyalty.
Rah, Rah, TCU!
Fight on boys, fight, with all your might
Roll up the scores for TCU
Hail white and purple flag whose heroes never lag,
Horned Frog, we are all for you!
Alma Mater
Hail all hail, TCU

Light of Faith, Follow Through
Praise to Thee, TCU
