History

TCU’s Ed & Rae Schollmaier Arena in Fort Worth, Texas is the home of the university’s men’s and women’s basketball teams. The 8,500 seat arena opened in 1961 and was originally named Daniel-Meyer Coliseum after TCU Board Member Milton Daniel and Horned Frogs football and basketball coach Dutch Meyer.

Schollmaier Arena underwent a $80 million renovation from March 2014 to July 2015. The renovation widened the concourses, added restrooms, upgraded concession stands, added a new courtside club, and renovated the locker rooms inside the arena. It also redid the arena’s facade to better match the architecture of Amon G. Carter Stadium, which is located next door.

The Horned Frogs men’s basketball team recorded their first Big 12 home win by upsetting #5 ranked Kansas 62-55 on February 6, 2013. That same month the Horned Frogs women’s basketball team also won their first Big 12 home game when they defeated Oklahoma State 64-63 on February 20, 2013.
