Rivalries & Top Games to Attend
Titans vs Colts
Rival Team: Indianapolis Colts
The Titans and Colts have been divisional rivals since 2002. In the early days of the newly formed AFC South, the Titans and Colts were the two power teams trading off division titles from 2002 to 2010. There is always a lot at stake when these two rivals get together, so you won’t want to miss when the Colts are in town.
Titans vs Texans
Rival Team: Houston Texans
Not only are the Titans and Texans AFC South rivals, but the Titans also originated in Houston, as the Oilers, capturing the hearts and minds of Houstonians from 1960 to 1996. Many Texans fans still have bad taste in their mouths from the Oilers skipping town, so expect there to be a lot of passion both on the field and in the stands when these two AFC South rivals get together.
Titans vs Jaguars
Rival Team: Jacksonville Jaguars
The first matchup between the then Houston Oilers and Jaguars took place in 1995 when the Oilers took down the Jaguars 10-3. During the 1999 season, the rivalry between these two teams intensified with the Titans handing the Jaguars their only three losses of the season including a 33-14 loss in the AFC Championship game.
Titans vs Steelers
Rival Team: Pittsburgh Steelers
The rivalry between the Titans and Steelers stems from these two teams occupying the AFC Central together from 1970 to 2002. Once realignment came around in 2002 the Titans were moved to the AFC South, and the Steelers were put in the AFC North. However that hasn’t stopped this rivalry from being very heated as the two teams still meet on a regular basis, and there is still plenty of bad blood between the fans.
