Rivalries & Top Games to Attend

Battle of Nevada

Rival Team: Nevada Wolf Pack

There is no love lost between Nevada and instate rivals UNLV, as these two teams have had a deep hatred for each other since they first met in 1969. Each time these teams have met since 1970 the winner of the game has walked away with the Fremont Cannon, which was introduced by Nevada alum and UNLV’s first football coach Bill Ireland. Over the years this rivalry has taken a bit of a backseat to others due to the two teams not being in the same conference. However since Nevada joined the Mountain West in 2012 the rivalry has picked up again.

Rebels Stadium Guide

In Game

Allegiant Stadium provides one of the best atmospheres among all mid-major schools in the FBS, as the fans here come out in strong numbers and the crowd is very loud. You’ll also find that the excellent in-game atmosphere is a direct translation of the strong tailgating tradition at UNLV.

On game days Allegiant Stadium is filled with diehard Rebels fans cheer loud and hard for their team. The fan base at UNLV is also very knowledgeable about the game and their team. Although, as compared to other schools, one unique thing about Rebels fans is that there tends to be much more discussion about the betting line and point spread in the stands.

It’s not just the fans that make a trip to Allegiant Stadium a memorable experience, but the excellent view also does a great job of making a trip well worth your time. From the stadium, you’ll have a great view of the nearby mountains, and you can even see the lights of the Las Vegas Strip if you’re seated in the right location.

You’ll have a great time taking in a Rebels game at Allegiant Stadium as the fans and beautiful view make the trip an unforgettable one.
